Styria, the W116 is within the fold. :D
I know you are not so keen on the PII but if you could drive it on the freeway at speed you would understand its appeal.
Regards,
Brian

Hi BenzBoy, just not quite sure why you'd think that I am not keen on the Gurney Nutting. Sure, its shape does not necessarily hold me spellbound, but that would, or should not, detract from its driving capabilities. In any case, as I have always said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Also, of course, I tend to compare with other Rolls Royces of that era from various coachbuilders, and you'd have to admit that there are some very, very stunning, and beautiful designs. Regards Styria

WOW , nice one motec only for 195 K ( starting bid ) for what looks like one of a kind . i love it .

BRIAN , it is very nice car indeed even for touring , it is collecting item not for daily driver.
don't tell me you us your phantom daily , that would kill me.
you can drive the brown as much as you want , but easy on the phantom.

If I were to drive the PII on a daily basis I would need to be built like a Russian wrestler!!!! The PII is underghoing a rolling-restoration - the Spirit was the Club's Councours Best Post War car for 2010-2011 so it gets only light use to maintain its condition - so no, it does not get driven as much as I might want to. The daily drive is the ML which ignores pot-holes and car parks with equal disdain. :D Truly a versatile and bullet-proof machine.

Brian

Hi motec 6.9, a bit miffed by those two links. I need to be honest, as I got stuck into the link featuring 25 of the hottest celebrities. That was compelling viewing - well, some of them. :D The other Rolls - the Silver Shadow - no, I didn't like it but, nevertheless, keep going. Regards Styria

Beautiful cars Benzboy and Michel i must say they look great now for something different http://autoshow.autos.msn.com/autoshow/SEMA2008/photogallery.aspx?cp-documentid=12436612 and this 1 http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars...=1318CDB71F20&__Nne=15&__Qpb=1&seot=1&__N=834 1216 1246 1247 1252 1282 4294963681 4294959600&silo=1011 :D

You'll find the US Silver Shadow has been featured on Topklasse before as I was in Vegas when it made its debut at SEMA.
It is SERIOUSLY modified.
I have a multitude of photographs including one with the owner.

The Aussie one seems to be all stock, bar the wheels/flares, 3rd stop light, dual exhaust and steering wheel (maybe a sound system).
As much as I like a modified car every once in a while (and I have considered many times slotting a big block Chev in an old Shadow) it is not to my liking.
Like the owner says, it was done 20 years ago, when SLR5000 were still the flavour of the month.
He'll have a hard time moving it at that price!

Hi MOTEC, i share the GODFATHER view of dislike the hot rod ROLLS, but i can understand the MK1 conversion of being a unique car and i'm actually in the same process with my just bought W108 turning it to a ROTE SAU or RED PIG and i had to do major body work still undergoing with plenty of problems .
