30 Ugliest cars ever

There are some real surprises here - especially No. 29 having regard to BenzBoy's past (?) desires. Looking for reactions from others - I will come up with some of my own observations. Needless to say, I used to love the looks of the ANC (in those days), and I don't even mind the Ford Edsel.

Not surprising the Sang..whatever made the list - what were they thinking when they styled the rear of the car with that window. On the other hand, the interior of those cars is cracking - I have seen it in real life and it leaves nothing to be desired. Regards Styria

Making a YouTube clip out of plagiarised and poor quality photos, then adding a groovy sound track does not make the author any more correct than a list on the back of a paper napkin.

I will just comment that some entries were made due to lack of cognitive skills and comprehension of the era the cars were designed.

Nissan Cube is an ugly looking car I saw one driving down Maitland Road very ugly!


Certainly are some ugly cars featured in the video no doubt about it.

I think the person behind the clip has forgotten the letter 'R' to his name.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

The Aston Martin Lagonda is a beautiful design.
One must not forget that Lamborghini started life as a tractor manufacturer.
The Nissan Cube has its own following and is imported in Australia in low volumes.
I love Tang Hua's designs....
I have never liked the Fiat Multipla, but it sold its socks off in Europe and is a very versatile vehicle.
The Edsel was released a touch too late for its time and cars are worth a fair bit of money if you can find decent ones.

It strikes me that more than anything else, he has little knowledge of cars! His list is limited and while there have been some truly UGLY ones he seems to have missed them (read: has never seen or heard of them).
The Lagonda is certainly a design exercise in excellence and purity of line but not to everyone's liking. Does that make it ugly? Not at all.
How boring if we all liked the same things ....

Guys, please don't forget that I was not the one to compile the list. As Michel says, beauty is in the eye of the beholder - ugliness has about the same definition.

I guess my pick as far as ugliness is concerned, would probably be the Electric Citi Car. There are other fairly interesting ones. The Fiat Multipla - believe it or not, the English "CAR" magazine voted it car of the year against ALL - COMERS, incl. Mercedes, Rolls Royce etc. Must have a bit of a look at its interior. The Skoda Roomster - I actually saw one in Penrith about six weeks ago. I was quite taken by its unusual, but still attractive, styling - maybe shades of VW Caddy ?

Anyway, have a look at the next lot. Some surprises there. Regards Styria

Quite honestly, there are some great looking cars to grace the pages. Daihatsu Copen, Tatra 603, Skoda Roomster (here it is again), Aston Martin Lagonda Shooting Brake (!), Pontiac Trans Sport (really nice), a couple of KIA models - that's not a bad looking lot. I also remember the Ford KA - on its introduction back whenever, "CAR" couldn't stop raving about it - cruising at 100, miles and not kilometers that is, on the French Autoroute - best thing since sliced bread....and, of course, the Fiat Multipla made the list again. Some versatile car, that Fiat. Anyway, try and enjoy the post. Regards Styria

On another matter, we had a Renault Val Sartis as a rental in France and it was truly a gorgeous car! Big, smooth, roomy, quiet and even handled pretty well. Yes, I would buy one.

BTW BenzBoy, I agree fully with you on the Renault - I have read tests (and I would probably have a magazine that would contain a test - for the future sometimes), and I share your observations regarding the car. I really don't care if the Tatra 603 is ugly - and I have to concede that it may not be the prettiest car on the planet, but I have one and it continues to increase in value !
