The rain Styria - the rain. No-one mentioned an incontinence problem. It's not that kind of forum (?)

Well, I didn't realize that you were talking about rain etc. anyway, whichever way it goes, I certainly wouldn't be offended by anyone wishing to comment on British cars in general, or Rovers in particular. It takes a lot more than that to offend me. However, if we must talk British, I am all for it.......
I've owned a couple of Jaguars, viz. a Mark V Convertible that required
, or should I say desrved, restoration. At the time, I envisaged ten grand and there was no way that I was ever going to have that amount readily at my disposal. If one only knew.....Anyway, the second was a !967 Jaguar 3.8S. I bought it with low mileage (48K. miles) and by 80K. the head had to come off due to a burned out exhaust valve. Even though I had a mechanic's assistance, in realty that level of work was really beyond what I was capable of fixing. We're talking about shims to adjust tappets, twin overhead camshafts etc. Well, I got it going - long enough for the bottom timing chain to rattle after I had lent the car to a friend. I can only assume he flogged it. Anyway, in due course I sold it, with some regret, but it did need a better home and certainly proved to be of some disappointment. Enough to realize that, really, I would never want another Jaguar. Incidentally, it did not leak water. So, I can talk a bit about Rovers. That's yet to come. Regards Styria
