In the last few year I have seen a few 6.3 on Australian eBay that have rust and interiors that have been left to rot in the sun for last 10 to 20 years come up for sale and go cheap. That kind of car is ripe for this treatment. :D:D:D

I though about looking for one while thinking about getting my current car . Interior would be easy 2 race seats in the front carpet in the rear as you cannot have rear seats with roll cage in Australia. :)

Hi Ant found some racing car W109 6.3 pictures for you that are not Red . :D

They look good even without the bumper bars. Surely an indication that the styling was 'correct' in the first place. 116s - even if you remove the side rubbing strips, the styling of the bodies is still attractive. Regards Styria

Hi Styria yes I agree . I have been thinking maybe removing side strips and welding holes to remove water access entry holes. As I have always seen them as a weak point in the design. :)

Geoff, I don't think you need to do as you are suggesting. With the proper red, white or blue (depending) sealing plugs, ingress of water is not an issue. That situation is more likely to arise from the side window seals becoming brittle and not sealing properly. They are the ones attached to the alloy trim strips that abutt against the side of the front and rear windows.

I could take photos, but I am sure you know the area and parts I am talking about. Regards Styria
