Rover 3500S Rebuild

All being what it seems on the surface, at the guiding price range it would be well priced. There are a few items under the bonnet that don't quite add up to the photographic nice car it appears to be. I like the paint colour which is reasonably rare. A fairly significant issue is the leather upholstery - the trimmer endeavoured to re-create the original "shape" built into the pleats, and the end result is pretty close to disastrous.

Also note, that this is the Automatic version, and not nearly as desirable as the manuals. Regards Styria

N.B. Page one of this thread shows two cream coloured back seats on top of each other, and it is possible to examine the "ribbing" and the strategic "dip" of the pleats. Whilst it is not possible to judge ribbing of squab and back rest being aligned with each other, on the car being auctioned by Shannons there is a definite issue with that aspect of the upholstery.

I have just had another look at that upholstery, and the quality really is quite abysmal, both front and back. Sorry, don't mean to be critical.

WOW... what a lovely colour combination it was!

Michel, I have endeavoured to apply that same colour combination to my 3 litre MarkIII Coupe, with the combination of Almond Rover Colour) and Cream, which is a Ford Colour - supposedly. You have probably seen pics of my Mark III in some of the posts already. Regards Styria

N.B. Bear in mind, that all of those Colour schemes were chosen about twenty years ago.

This has turned out to be a strange post - no pictures, posts all over the place. I will need to get myself into gear to try and remedy some of the threads shortcomings. Not a criticism, most of it caused by my slack in contributing and keepingan eye on what is being posted. Shame on myself. Expect some updates in due course. Regards Styria

N.B. That white Rover 3500S is still in my posession being stored at Seven Hills waiting for further attention on my part. I am really excited to eventually get onto this project. There is just something very special about these Rover 3500Ss. Another I would like to have in my stable would be a 2200TC.
