Buying a car Advice????

Hey guys,

I am buying a second hand car in the next few days and i need some advice.
The car is in Ballarat TOOO far away.
RACV Checks are useless (i'll be doing one anyway) and i am trying to figure out a way to look over
the car correctly. I wanted to get a FULL check at my mechanic but now
that can't happen as the car is a few hours away.

Short of trying to take a Mechanic with me does anyone have any other ideas?

Or work in Ballarat???

Right now cars are not easy to sell, so put pressure on the seller to bring the cat to your mechanic. It's not worth taking a chance on what may be a mechanically neglected Mercedes, there are plenty of good cars around!

If the vehicle you wish to purchase is a W116, then it is well worth the effort and time required, to take it to a competent mechanic.

They can check the car over and also give you an estimate for the cost of any repairs [then stick to that quote when you get the work done], this will help you to negotiate the buying price or determine if you should give it up as too costly.
