Did a search through my bookmarks and found the company that does the aftermarket cruise control (CC) replacement. Here is the link:

http://www.autron.com.au/newweb/index1280.htm

Now these people supply the units, these are the people who make them:

http://www.rostra.com/

Go to the Universal CC window.

When i was looking to get one fitted they put me on to an Auto electrical place in Melville Western Australia. I did not get it in the end as my mechanic sorted out the issue i was having. :)

PS. i was quoted $700

The Mercedes unit was made by Bosch or VDO from memory.

Most likely reason the original system has stopped working is due to dry solder joints on the PCB or failure of the capacitors.

The units can be repaired by a competent technician.

Failing that the units are still available in after market form from Bosch or VDO,, but need to have 'adapetr' plugs made to match the wiring harness.
