I obtained a quote some years ago at about $450 per pair!
They seem to be moulded to an exact size / thickness which varies in section from one side to the other, hence the expense.
Try and obtain a set of tail lights with good seals already attached at a MB boot sale of at a specialised wreckers, should get them for under $150.
The local U-pull-it wreckers here has 6 or more 116s, should I go remove all the taillights for the seals and get the 6 best ones for future use or something?

Michel, mate you have nice new paintwork, some 30 odd year old faded old tail lights with crappy old cracked rubbers is not going to do the 690SEL justice.
I'm sure when I ordered new lenses for my 280S they were like $170 each plus the gaskets/rubbers, which were like $70 each.

Everything is relative, according to the good Doctor Einstein. If you are concerned about the price for a seal for the 450 then get a quote for one for the Queen of Sheba. Doing so will make you feel so much better.
