Favorite Car Colours

Over the years many different colours have taken my fancy to paint my Buick. I think it's one of the most difficult decisions to make when rebuilding a car. I've gone from purples, to candy apple red, to black. I'm now settled on a two tone combination of blues. I've seen many standard cars driving around and after some research I've discovered some interesting colours that I'll list in this thread. Unfortunately many are at the high end of the price range, but that'll be no surprise to some that know I have expensive taste! No doubt there's a huge range of non-standard colours, but many are hard to visualize over a whole car. So my favourites standard colours are (mainly blue):

Mitsubishi Island Blue (mid 90s Magnas - light blue),
Ford Velocity (BA Falcon - light blue)
Ford Wired (Territory & BA Falcon - copper)
Honda Tiger Orange, or Blaze Orange (Integra - copper),
MB Adventurine (orange),
MB Beryl Blue (navy),
Mazda Crystal Blue (MX5 - light blue),
Proton Angel Blue (light blue),
Toyota Ice Blue (Camry - light blue), and
Mini Electric Blue (light blue).

If I have to repaint any of my MBs I'll consider these colours carefully, along witht the original colours. So what are your favorites?? And Michel there's almost no point you posting in this thread! Hahahaaha!

Was with Michel where we meet for MB Club in Fivedock.

Saw a Honda with bright yellow metallic paint. Looked great under the street lighting on a wet night.

Green's, Blacks and Charcoals Mark and you cant go wrong.

And on a car with buckets of Chrome the darker the colour the better I think.

A lot depends on the year and shape - a picture will help us all tell you what we think you should do...personally, I like burnt metallic orange over dark metallic grey but that depends on the shape.

Champagne, smoke silver, blue, grey colours make a good choice for a Mercedes IMO.

My W126 is champagne with black interior , my C300 AMG is black so the bmw x3

108 is a red pig HELL RED MB 568, the W116 till now we think MB BLUE 904

my favorite colors like TONY SAID CHARCOL or BLACK .

What a subject, and whatsmore, how difficult to interpret without being able to display the actual colours. The pic. that BenzBoy has posted of the Chevy is not the first time I have seen it - in fact he has posted it previously - and what a striking combination. I think our tastes can change with years - for instance, thirty years ago, I couldn't take my eyes off Lavender coloured XJ6s, yet today it would probably be less of an attraction for me.

I think the shape of a car's body design is almost more important. For instance, remove all the body moulds and brightwork from a W116, and the car still looks attractive. When you come to that conclusion, the designers have got the styling right. My colours - burnt orange, petrol (MB877) blue, Silver Blue, Magnetite Blue but, unlike Bill, I find Cypress Green quite severe and harsh. Black - too hard to look after, but also I have seen a couple of metallic pink shades on a Nissan Micra and Suzuki Swift that I really like, and I often envisage how they would have looked on Gleaming Beauty. Also Champagne, or Tungsten as on our Statesman, are very dignified and attractive colours, but one can keep on musing and never be satisfied. What is it they say - how long is a string ? As Styria said before, the 116's shape lends itself to many colours and does it well.

Even the Topaz brown on my SE looks pretty nice when shiny.

Nice little colour chart and pics of many models and colours. Strange site though - I somehow have the feeling that one shouldn't spend too much time on the site. Something just doesn't sit right. Regards Styria

Our language director who parks next to me in the car park at work has a 2011 S Class in brown - very close to Milan Brown but a shade darker. It is a gorgeous colour and very sensual with a cream interior. Brown can work very nicely with a contrasting interior.
Unfortunately he is a tad snooty and commented to me recently that I really should wash my car more often as it was lowering the tone of the car park.
Ha!!! I took the SSII to work the next day and he has not spoken to me since.
