I've seen this link posted quite a few places.

I must so though, 10 times easier on a D-jet. certainly something I am looking at for better fuel economy and power.

I spoke to a bloke on the Gold Coast who Megasquirted his D-Jet 350SLC and he said that after doing it once he now reckons he could knock the job over in a weekend and do it for under $1000.00

Cheap power....

Yep, including parts. I don't know how much of the Mega-squirt hardware he built himself, as you can but it either as individual components, or as partially built ot fully built units, but that was an all-up cost.

I'm guessing though that you would then be doing a lot of tuning to get your engine management correct.

I think he is just a back-yard DIY'er. And remember, this was on a D-Jet engine, for a K-Jet I imagine the cost would be much higher. On a D-Jet at least most of the components are already there.

I will be doing it at some point over the next 6 months to my SLC, so I will keep you posted on that, and I will report back with photos, costs, instructions, observations and results.

D was first yes
J-Jetronic came out around 1974-75


whats KE?

K with Electronic.. started either late 70s or early 80s

KE is K-jet with closed loop lambda sensor (O2)

the electronics are there to help improve fuel metering.

It isn't there specifically for improving economy, but it had an effect on this. It was initially intended to cater for US market (California) emissions standards.
