There is a reason for posting these details - obviously, the Astral Silver 6.9 with a selection of good quality photos. Note with this car the absence of mag wheels, an old Becker Radio normally fitted to the 108/109 range, and the absence of timber in the dash area.

Generally speaking, I like looking at cars for sale, especially if the advertisements are accompanied by excellent illustrations. Just as an aside, there is a chap by the name of Leseberg working for Trivett Classic in business administration - could be a relation to Lesebergs in Hamburg. Regards Styria

What a beautiful collection of Mercedes for sale!

13,500 EURO for the green W124 230E and 12,900 EURO for the black W124 230E interesting to see.

Classic and Modern Mercedes seem to be worth more in Europe compared to Australia would I be right in saying that?

The 560SEL W126 wagon I could see myself behind the wheel driving that!

Anyway at 23,500 Euro its too expensive.

there was a very nice unit for sale in the US for 16,000 USD with full Benz service history, 89'000 km on the clock etc, add $3200 AU for security freight to Melb and taxes and its still cheaper than just the purchase price of the German unit.

And I know of 2 that have arrived in Australia for $15,000 aud or there abouts.

Unless the car is 25 years old (or more), you'll have to convert it to RHD. You'd need an Aussie donor car and a whole lot of patience, space and money.... Personally I'd look for an Aussie E55 (or something similar).

I am officially on a 2 year ban from acquiring more cars (ML excepted) and you are NOT helping lol

And as all E500/500E's are left hand drive importing one isnt off the cards, But I have some wealth creation to do before I can continue with my hobby.

Sorry Tony but the 500E/E500 sure are tempting!

The "pinstripe" Becker Mexicos were the norm until 1977 onwards on W116s. Our 1975 280SE had one but my 1978 6.9 has the replacement upated model.

So what's the replacement updated model look like? All the radios in mine have been replaced with aftermarket units; most of which don't work properly...

Not always, not in all states and not for club rego.

Just a footnote here but I wouldn't convert it anyway unless I could leave everything from the firewall as factory.

Ive looked long and hard at a few of these in past years and I dont think the room exists to do a full side to side swap anyway.

And I seem to remember QLD cars being converted with half a steering column, 2 sprockets and a dual row chain lol

Tempting perhaps but im out of cash lol

I used to have a nice salaried position and disposable income that I gave up for personal happiness and custody of my kids (All of em).

And as you cant sell kids for medical experiments any more it seems I have to create a way to make money again.

And then..... disgusting displays of wanton Mercedes ownership!

I also have plans for a very very nice workshop and a mate who has some incredible skills in bodywork and fabrication who wouldn't be too upset to come work for me on an hourly basis, I also have a good mate who is a seriously old school panelbeater and spray painter....

Good blokes both of them and I enjoy their company so im motivated on a number of fronts.

The freaky thing was that Jenna drew the original workshop Layout, later adjusted with my suggestions and then she drew up a list of tools id need and then priced the lot.

I started drooling at Plasma cutter (Proper Oxygen unit) and im not saying what effect the rotary screw air compressor with built in dryer had on me but it could have been messy.

Dunno if it will happen the way its been drawn up but I had it framed and hung in my office anyway lol
