We have a very good intrument maker here in Sydney. He did wonders on the instrument panels of the 450SE and the 230E for $45 a piece (take it out yourself and deliver). He even did wonders with the Spirit after a well-known panel shop fried its dashboard ECUs by incorrect jump-starting procedures and rebuilt the temp gauge on the PII last July. Still waiting for the bill for the PII...cheaper than sending back to Smiths in the UK.

The firm that printed my 300K AMG face do all that in Perth.
Apparently A class M-B's cook up their instruments with monotonous regularity.
I see my ML's both boast surge protection for the electronics while jump starting - about bloody time.
