My 690SEL hardly gets driven and always gave me a little grief in startiing up when warm. Maybe three goes and it will come alive.
Each one of those goes feels like fuel starvation.

But when cold, she would fire up from the first go.

However, last night, it refused to start even when cold and I mean I had 15-20 goes before it came alive.

Jerry tells me it's been like that for more than 2 weeks.
Any ideas?

Just change the accumulator and also the o ring on the pressure regulator....... After that, a full pressure test
i'm guessing that it is the k jetronic system ?.
I never did completely sort mine. Checked everything over a couple of weeks. Owners manual advises to hold the throttle open when hot starting and closed when cold.
Ant has all the test equipment if you want to tackle it yourself. A time consuming job can be Dollars plus.

I knew about the accumulator and was hapy to live with it.
But cold start is crazy.

Initially Michel, I would check the fuel pump, and the associated filter. It is important that fuel delivery is up to specifications. In addition, how long is it since the fuel filter has been changed, although checking the pump is more important.

Also, I am hoping that Helmet will come into this conversation. If anyone knows, he is your best contact. Regards Styria

What a good idea.
There is also a Specialist who does nothing else but K Jetronics. He has all the gear to bench test all the components. He will pressure test the system on the Car before he starts. He is used extensively by the Trade. A bit like a specialist that Doctors give references for health issues.

Michel, another problem may well be your Spark Plugs. Constant cold starts, as in moving the car fifteen metres at a time, God knows how many times, can play havoc with starting. Right at this moment, I am not able to help you. I am booked in for an operation in three weeks, and I am trying to utilise every moment to tidy up my affairs. Please understand. Regards. Styria

However, I have not experienced this before.
