Yes, you're reading right. BMW in the hallowed pages of TK ? Too right. I must admit that, nowadays, BMW purchases would frighten me - I am talking of older models. However, that belief didn't stop me from pushing the large BMW 507 of 1956 vintage on ice covered snow - half to one inch at a time, both forward and backwards. It belonged to the boss of the Mens Wear Shop where I was the last in line of three apprentices. It was my job to clean the car which, I might add, wistfully, was never done. I was too busy pushing that monster...
I also had my heart set on purchasing the 1979 (ca.) 3 litre model - I got to drive one and, believe me, it accelerated like a scolded cat - well, when compared with one of my Rovers I owned at the time. Regards Styria
