I may have solved the problem. Apparently the connection to a slight air suction from the intake to the " can " , with the two fuel pipes ,is to prevent any fuel vapour entering the engine bay from the regulater, I think ?. Anyhow it has no effect on engine preformance and may not be fitted...

I rebuilt the compressor now very efficient but the tight belt squeals when hot after running for a while. The compressor seems to load up. Is there a test for the pressure switch ? Should the switch turn off the clutch as necessary ? Thanks Sean

Re 280 107 SL. How long should it take for the engine to return to idle from cold start. ? I run an 82% thermostat and water temp in cyl. head is up to 82% in 1 to 2 ks depending on the weather. But the idle is still to high till 5 or 6 ks. The auxilary air valve is buried under the manifold...
