Agreed. It still wouldn't hurt to check for early signs while the unit is out. I'm betting lazy solenoid, assuming battery, ground and wiring is all good. Never boring, is it?

Most helpful, thanks. Will check the numbers at home, but that eBay one looks good.

I inspected the ring gear while the starter was out the first time - all happy there (thankfully).
