Where can the starter be found on 280SE?

I'm new to wrenching and have a 280SE in need of a starter. I picked up a parts car and wish to remove the starter for use in the driver.

I checked the service manual but without success.

Any help would be appreciated. Great site by the way!

Hi MBMike, if memory serves me correctly, it is located on the left side of the engine looking towards the FRONT of the car. Well, if not, it's got to be on the other side - it's been a long time since I looked. Others might be somewhat more positive. Also, thank you for your comment and good luck with the job.
