I must say, I dont like either of those much.

Both bodykits spoil the W116 shape and the yellow paint job looks overdone and of a low quality.

However, both those vehicles were the wrong shade.....

I know exactly what you mean Michel. It's like most things early AMG. I hated them when I first saw them, then you see the pics often enough and I get the wants. Even the paint-all-over jobs that have appeared in some of Des' AMG catalogue pics of w123's etc and the classic centre 6.9 that was bluish/black all over, the look is ugly but appealing at the same time. Hard to describe.

You mean how the blue/grey background somehow magnifies a smiley into a gargantuan solar thing. never mind contrast issues, that's the biggest smiley I've ever seen. Kind of scary

...in saying that, if you saw my 116 in the flesh - you'd def say I don't deserve a benz.

I'd say the forum colour scheme is better than that on the yellow car.

Can't say that I'm a big fan of the 'modernisation' of the W116. Painting out all the chrome would appear to detract from the original gentlemanly status of the vehicle.

Maybe it would be a much better finish if one were to paint the whole damn lot a respectable mica black finish and then allow a thin edge of polished finish around the wheels: that would allow for the chrome surround and trim of the grille to remain and be somewhat distinguised.

It's all a matter of what one prefers in the end.... blonde or brunette [as long as it's a woman].

I think that yellow is a very nice colour.
Doesn't scream at you like some and goes great with black
