It's an SE not an SEL (there's heaps of SEL's around, and I've used one to race so not a big deal i reckon...anyway..this one's an SE)

It's brown, so it needs a paintjob anyway. (sorry BB)

It 'claims' the engine is in good shape.

New pirellies (they'd be smoked after one sprint anyway but still nice)

Main reason is, the plates are AJM 666 !!!!!!! It's destine for the track.

Down side = it's already at least $500 past the 'allowable spend' for any Team W116 track car initial purchase.

BTW, it's not even an SE, it's an ES (according to ebay title)
I like this one. It would make a comfortable tow car.

I saw that car when it was listed and it did appeal to me.
But the reserve hasn't been reached yet and it's past the budget.

And, it looks too good to turn into a race car...

Lucky for you there's been a couple of candidates. I'm liking this 450SE. Slight front damage even I could fix.

If the budget can extend there's not only that 350 chev transplant in your other thread but just for the curiosity and rarity, there's a w126 4spd manual about to end. But a bit too good to race perhaps.

I'm searching also eBay and the other usual haunts.
But someone might find a 450SE in someone's backyard or barn.
I really loathe the idea of pulling a nice car off the road for that.

And W126s are awful in race form.. They look too bulky, even with a four speed manual..

Initial purchase has to be in the low hundreds.

As I mentionned many times, the body/interior DO NOT have to be in top condition.
ALL the interior would be removed anyway
The body, well, I own a Body Shop....

On prepping the car?
No idea or defined price....
But I plan on trying to get contra deals through my magazine, my radio programme and the world on wheels website.

I could buy this 6.9 or any other, but it is too Nice..

BTW, that does look to be a pretty good and decent buy - you might pay a bit more, but you're getting something that appears to have a fair biit going for it. Other than the obvious, not a lot of difference between the low hundreds and perhaps $1200.00 - personally, I think it'll go for more. Regards Styria
