Hmmm ... no VIN, no engine number, and only 14,000 km (how many times around the clock?).
And a camera with an ovoid lens!
Highly sus!
Oh, and GullWIND ? Perhaps it's just hot air.
Google search for Steve's Collectibles (in various spellings and with/out the apostrophe / space) bring up only such-named businesses in the UK and US -- and none of those list cars, mostly small stuff like bric-a-brac, The White Pages has no listings for the name in Brisbane.
Somewhere recently -- perhaps a fortnight ago -- I read exactly the same story about an Arthur Rizzo-converted W198 300SL roadster, but can't recall if it was on evilBay or elsewhere. I believe Rizzo's son still runs the business, so if one was interested, perhaps a phone call to Rizzo's might verify the story.
Arthur Rizzo Motors Pty Ltd, Bay 9 Middlemiss St, North Sydney. (02) 9959 4370 or (02) 9959 4371.
