Odometer currently reads 199,940kms as of today.

Driving up to the Bay tomorrow.

Odometer will click over to 200,000kms not bad for a car that was built 25 years ago.

Going to see my GP tomorrow last drain will be removed which is great news!

Just a general check up with the GP still feeling terrific.

Post a photo of the odometer tomorrow.

Fat chance of that happening in this country. Its why there are so many Mercedes under $10000 . I wish it wasn't the case as I know I will never recover out lay on my 6.9 but they just don't hold value in this country . So I will do what I am doing I will just enjoy the car and keep it. Which is my advise to Tim .

I agree with Brian, when compared with the USA the value of our cars here is good and rising, quickly. M-100 group members who are commercially involved with trading these models couldn't believe the prices achieved here for similar models there. European values are higher still. They are increasing gents, no doubt

Yes but 300SE no chance same as my new S280 . They are to common and base model.

Good point and I agree, but well kept examples will always appreciate in value, and a lot of the common and base models are often the most well kept. The wealthy buy the top of the line because they can and value or price is not a consideration, the less wealthy but enthusiastic save for ever and buy a base model because it is all they can afford but value it and treasure it for a much longer time, lavishing it with care and maintenance to protect their investment and passion. There are a lot of trophy winning base spec cars at many shows.

Condition will always be the most significant factor and Tim's car is rare in that it has been loved more than most - renewed wheels etc. Regardless, Tim is keeping his car not trading it and he deserves to have the car in the condition he wants. Re-sale becomes academic.

Oh and Tim apparently all sub frame bushes and suspension collapse at around 200000Km and will need to be replaced. Oh that's right they were talking about W140 so I will have to budget that in the next year.

All rubber components begin the deteriorate the day they are made. They are simply wear and tear items - no the suspension does not collapse. Don't worry Tim, yours will be much cheaper to replace that Motec's.

That I am aware of I have read up everything I could when I decided to have a look at the car. But it is the quietest car I have driven including LS400 Lexus. I have been in a few W220 not even close in noise suppression.

Very successful drive to the Bay to see my GP.

Last drain and bandage was removed.

GP shook my hand and said Tim you are looking terrific and all the best with the recovery.

Went for a long perhaps way to long walk this afternoon.

My legs were like lead after the walk two steep hills it has been almost four weeks since I last walked to the top of the steep hills!

Feeling a little sore tonight Doctors orders to take it easy so that is exactly what I will be doing.

Motec the front shock absorbers were replaced with Bilstein shocks last year.
