The rust in the roof is a concern and it's not shown in the pictures. The interior needs plenty of TLC.... For $10K I'd expect the wheels to be washed!!

Hi guys, unfortunately it appears to be a very, very ordinary motor car. I simply don't know how anyone could have the gall to ask for this sort of starting price. Very poorly presented, equally poorly photographed, and there seems to be some real doubt concerning the mileage being quoted by the seller, or his agent. I'd steer well clear. Regards Styria

It is now for sale in Melbourne (through someone who has 40% positive feedback on eBay) for $10,000.

Hi Mark, no similarity ! Just exactly the same car. I believe the identity of this car has been picked up by a member of the 116 site who has details of a previous offer for sale showing a much higher mileage. I won't engage in terms or descriptions offered by another member of that site, but I would say and strongly advise 'caveat emptor' in this instance. Regards styria

Hi Styria, yeah I knew it was the same car; just being factitious!!! The seller reckons the kms are genuine and the service books were lost by the last owner. Funny how they have everything else..... Surely they must realize we can all see through that?

One of the main reasons a MB will hold value is it's service history; without it, the value plummets. I don't believe anyone when they say the books have been lost, particularly as they hold such great importance for a Mercedes. They should always be kept in a safe place (not inside the car).

It does become more difficult as the car gets older and it becomes necessary to purchase a new book. The repairs usually become more extensive and there's no room in the book to record these items. I create a spreadsheet for each of my cars and record the more involved repairs there. And if I ever sell the car, they go with it!

so Mark, is it too rude to ask how many spreadsheets you have started on your cars ? Really, all of us ought to know what the next task is that you are undertaking, and which car it is applied to !

Seriously though, and let us not hijack this thread (the car doesn't deserve it), you may have some news if there is any work you are undertaking. Separate thread please. As you know, the 6.9 that used to belong to Black Hands is now in your possession and you would probably have a stack of Invoices that I furnished Duncan with at the time of all the work that was carried out.
