I have a Motor or Autocar road test on a 220a from the mid 1950's, and that model was impressive - actually performed and rode very well, much better that the other cars of the era (ignoring the exotics).

And it's in Tassie, which is close to you and scares away the mainlanders...:p

True, but as tempting as it is I'll pass, if I really wanted a Ponton I would buy one of yours, your 190D would be far cheaper than that car which sounds like it needs total restoration.

Bidding is currently at AU $1,625.00

How rare do you guys think Pontons are in Australia?

Hobart is hardly filled with MB's but I have only ever seen one here,

I can't answer your question Des but I'm sure someone else will. A couple of years ago I went to the All German Day at Canberra (quite a big day out) and there was a wonderful selection of beautifully preserved or restored Pontons.
Now, if you are to buy one you either buy the best there is available and bugger the expense or you restore one to the highest standard and bugger the expense. Do you want to do that? Or, do you want the 170? The real point is, buy what you want - not what we here suggest....

Benzboy
