You may recall I asked about recommendations for someone to polish a very deep scratch out of my diriver's side window of the SSII. Well, the job was done by Glass Technology (google them) who has operators in various areas.
I don't know the name of the actual operator as it was arranged by Sam...
A friend is looking for a W108 280SE or similar to replace hers which was rear-ended and written off by the insurance company. She still has the old 280SE but it needs a new rear end plus other repairs.

Is anyone here able to recommend a competent car carrier with a single, covered truck to move a car interstate? I do not want a large company that moves many vehicles - just a sole operator who takes care in his work - or in her work as the case may be.

Brian
Welcome to Topklasse - the W140 is one of my favourite Benzs.
For a pre-purchase check I suggest Autohaus 1 - http://www.autohaus1.com.au/Home.aspx as they tend to specialise in cars of the age you are looking at.

Shannons currently have a rather nice 280SE for auction. It sat for a long time in their Park & Sell section at $10,000 but is now going to auction without reserve. Only real issue I can see is the passenger side front guard has been repainted and is a slightly different shade of white. The car...

The freewheel was an economy feature designed to save petrol. As such, it was not considered necessary at Derby and Crewe.
Yes - of course I like to flirt with other attractions. :D No one comapny had the exclusive rights to interesting vehicles.

Yes it had the traditional freewheel feature but I did not try it - I offered to buy the R110 from the 2009 ABD and was beaten to it by half an hour!!!
The Speed 20 had wonderful features like a trapezoid seating arrangement so that a crank handle can be used to change seat height and rake of...
Hardly!! He was trying to drag race us in the Austin 7 - despite the engine rebuild/hot cam/lightened flywheel and oversize jets we simply pulled ahead in silence.....

Possibly only Styria will relate to this car - although possibly Des would if he had been there...
I went driving today in a 1940 Rover Speed 20 - original car, in original condition and only 2 owners. The last owner has travelled only 1450 miles in the last 10 years and the log books show an...
Until this morning I have had an NRMA battery in the Spirit and it was showing signs of failure so I replaced it with a German-made Bosch. The remarkable change is that the motor idles more smoothly and the electrics run better - the fan speed is higher and the windows quicker. The explanation...
