Hi guys.
It's been a while since I've posted here, but things have been busy. Turns out we're leaving Australia for Denmark so the Benz has to go. Anyone interested, please get in touch (Steve Mueller - 0412 969 891)
Details:
300SEL 3.5 V8 (M116) D-jet with 4 speed fluid coupling transmission.
Air suspension is in great order and doesn't lose any air over the course of 4 weeks (the longest I have ever left it!). I've recently replaced the two rear airbags and the fronts are in good condition.
Engine had the head gaskets replaced about 5000km ago, with new timing chain, guides, sprockets, tensioner, valve stem seals, etc. I put in a new rear main seal when I first put the engine in so all is very clean and it leaks no oil. Radiator is excellent condition, near new. Transmission shifts nice and confidently up and down. It's a real pleasure to drive.
King pins in the front have been replaced along with the uppers and lowers. I checked out the control arms at the same time for cracks or wear.
Body has no rust I can see. It's a very straight car and in excellent condition. I've checked all the channels, boot area, doors, etc. Anywhere that I've been I have laid down Rustlac or Fishoil.
Interior is in good condition, with black leather seats (they have been reupholstered, without the inner pleats however). Door trims are still in parchment but I have the black door trims for fitting. I prefer the white...
Dash is in great condition, as is all the wood.
It has the factory electric sun roof which works a treat in the hot weather. I've matched this with fresh air vents on the sides which the 300SEL didn't come with originally. I have the full air conditioning unit in a box if anyone wants to put that back in. It's the in-dash integrated style and fits nicely with the rest of the interior.
It is fitted with an LPG tank (2006 date) and Impco system. It works beautifully on LPG as it does petrol. I tend to use more than 50% petrol when I drive it, but some conditions the gas is better.

Extras:
1. Comes with complete 300SEL 3.5 1970 model (W109) which has no paint on it. Most of the trim is in the boot, but the car drives. Great for spares to make nice cheap motoring.
2. I have another spare engine and 2 x transmissions that I've accumulated from 280SE's. These go with the package.
3. I have a bucket load of other spares all which go with it. Just about everything is there to save you sourcing or buying it if anything breaks.
Numbers:
Chassis: 109056 22 003668
Eng: 116980 22 009548 (NEW)
Cheers.
Steve.
