It has triad to recapture the 48 Packard with grill design . Not very cohesive in its design . Its pleasant enough but lacks the wow factor people with the money required to buy would be after. I did not know anyone had tried to resurrect the Packard name in late 90's . Interestingly it has no reserve. :)

Yes Geoff, you raise some interesting observations. I still suspect it will sell for good money - it may depend a little on condition. Regards Styria

It looks like it may have been sitting in a collection some where so would need to be recommissioned to drive I would think. :)

No its not what you would call attractive Tarek I posted for curiosity value . I was not aware that some one had tried to bring Packard back from the dead. :D

Although certain aspects of the exterior design are unresolved the general shape has merit and might have been developed into an elegant line. The interior is certainly better than most American offerings and has that club-like appeal that the French and English are good at but which the Germans and Americans just can't master.
Regards,
Brian
Ps: Maybe it needs white walls? :D:D:D

Hi Brian maybe it does I am sure Styria would approve. I will admit some aspects of the car had potential . I will be interested in seeing what sale price is with no reserve. :D

Professor I have no comment ,but why it didn't sold and produced if was successful ???? The car can't compete with even English cars of the era ,I was in England late 60's I saw the jaguar , Jensen ,Daimler , lotus and sure the boss Rolls Royce ,all with character even I am not a British car fan but all have my respect.

Regards
Tarek

Hi Tarek as add says it is a prototype . Also only one ever made so there lies the interest . A real Packard was a genuine Rolls Royce competitor in the 20's and 30's Alas they never recovered there grandeur after the war and went with a whimper in 1958 into the pages of history. :D

Hi Tarek yes and during the war they were only American company Rolls Royce entrusted with building there aero engines under licence . Mustang fighter used a Packard produced version of the Rolls Royce Merlin motor. Cars like this are what made Packard famous

It has no reserve Michel . Gearbox is GM and looking at the engine I would say its based on 350. I remember in 90's article in hot rod magazine about chev based V12 being built for a project this must have been it.
