At least battery tech is now catching up to the idea of electric cars back then it was not practical.

I read an article by John Cadogan . In it he used government data with regards power production by each state. The only State in Australia they make sense is Tasmania. As based on coal fired power plant carbon output there Co2 emissions from recharging are about 200g per Km. Only Tasmania with Hydro power did it make sense. Vic was worse by the way.
