A workmate here who owns an R33 skyline, and V8 SS, and loves drifting (jap cars), was commenting on how bloody stable "that merc" looks.

It's just as we've been saying Ian, they seem to be able to hang out so so far and you can still get them back.

I am a little biased, but I reckon the 123 was pretty much the best of the bunch. The dude got the fastest longest drifts happening more than the others.

The Silvia was very disappointing.. Both volvo's were pretty bloody good too.

There is something nice about seeing old Mercs and old boxes on wheels drifting when you normally associate it with Jap cars. Dont know if it came down to driver skill more so than car type, but its interesting that the Jap cars didnt do as well, esp that Lancer.

Hahah.. I'm sure driver was a big part. The jap cars, I would assume, definitely had the HP to pull some good drifts.. A little ironic, but they weren't as Kamakaze, maybe they didn't wanna scratch their nice decals.. but funny thing is they did in the end. Looked like the guy in the merc wasn't afraid to power through it, which is everything in drifting.. more speed = better drifts.

I've watched this a couple of times now, and I'm pretty sure that for the whole clip, the W123 was the only car not to hit something... every other car hit a barrel, or a witches hat, or ended up doing 180s. Its hard to see but the 123 does have a full cage installed, Oscar-style 17" alloys, and I'm not sure what the motor is, but the guys which brought this clip to my attention on the other MB 4cyl sight I frequent, reckon its got a modded 5cyl 300SD turbo diesel engine in it and manual box. Far out!

I'm starting to think I should have bought an oil burner & a small Arabian country instead of the 450SE!
I've forwarded the clip onto my sister & her boyfriend - both of whom have terrifingly quick Nissan Skyline GTS-T & GT-T respectively (and am currently eagerly awaiting their response)

Man oh man, can that guy drive! It must be a turbo diesel to develop the power, but I wonder why he has it running so rich?

I think I can just see hanging below the front bumper what appears to be the bottom of a very large FMIC so I thinking that owner was knowing what he was doing...

Also quite amusing that most of the times the other cars lose it and hit things, they are going at fairly low speeds... the faster cars must have more skilled drivers or are better set up.
