    Thanks for that suggestion. Where do you attach the multimeter to get an rpm reading? I suppose the standard tachometer is activated from the ignition system is it? Regards Mark.

    Hi everybody. Still have not got to the bottom of this issue. My car is geared at 35k per 1000 rpm which would indicate it has a 3.46 diff but the stamp on the diff casing clealy says 3.06 . It is a 78 Australian delivered car. Is there any other explanation for this anomoly other tha somebody...

    My 107 series 450sl has only one ignition key. I have contacted a number of locksmiths in an attempt to get some spares cut but they have all declined. Who can cut keys for older cars? Regards Mark.

    Cruise control

    I have just completed a very enjoyable 1000k road trip in my 6.9 and all went well except the cruise control stopped working and the blinkers are slow when cold. My question is where are the the cruise control module and the blinker unit located. Regards Mark.

    I have just completed a 1000k trip in my 450sl all went well except the idle is a little rough when hot. Can anybody suggest a shop in Sydney that is experienced with the K Jetronic system. Returned 15 l per 100k at highway speeds,starts easily both hot and cold but hot idle is not smooth like...

    6.9 ride height

    I have just fitted a reco front level valve and would like to get front and rear height set at the correct levels. I have seen them somewhere but does anybody know what they are? I measure from the ground to the bottom of the wheel arch. I currently have it set at about 62 cm

    Air conditioning parts

    Could somebody suggest a good suplier of 116 air con parts. I need the high pressure line that goes from the drier into the heater box in the cabin. My normal parts suplier says he can't find one. Any ideas?

    6.9 uni joint

    The uni joint in the center of my 6.9 tail shaft needs replacing . What is the best way to do this job as it is supposed to be non replaceable. Help please!

    116 mud flaps

    The mud flaps on my 6.9 are looking a bit tatty and I would like to replace them. Have looked on the net but even though there are heaps of Mercedes mud flaps I could not find any for a116 with the mn star on them. Anyone got an idea where I might get a set.

    450sl diff ratio

    I recently acquired a 450sl w107 in addition to my 6.9. Although generally happy with it I find the gearing of 35km per 1000 rev a little low for my use. Does anybody know if it is practical to change the diff ratio.?

    Air con drain

    When the AC is on in my 6.9 I get a drip of water on the drivers side footwell. Have checked the drain pipes and can only find a drain on the passengers side. Is there one on the driers side.?
