Typical, Mixed mechanical work with body work which is a pet hate of mine.

Mech first THEN body unless you do a full strip and assembly.

And 4 doors always look like 4 doors no matter what you do unless its cut and shut.

I usually stay away from other people's projects, unless it's a straight forward situation.

This one has too many tangents

i do agree with you guys it is a sad to see the car in this stage , personally i don't feel like it will turn to be a nice one mixing german body tech with older 40& 50 american style , who knows i might be lacking of imaginations.

I hate it when someone destroys something that was already good and then doesn't complete it.

Granted, it might be cool looking if/when finished, but it would be THAT persons personal style, not my own. I don't know what this person was going for? Custom hot rod, I guess......whatever....not the direction I would take it.

I have said I would take any Mercedes if someone gave it to me.....this one is kinda questionable......I agree with Tony66_au that it needs to be "cut & shut" to look correct. Perhaps this?:

Thank God that "individual" does not live next door to me and I have to see the poor thing sit in the weather and be tortured all year long, lol.

Well I need to admit that I like it and regard it as a cracking good styling exercise. It combines some nice, and well moulded features, of a couple of models, and if the home in the background is any guide, this is a well executed project in more ways than one. I am sure no one has anything like it. Regards Styria

LOL, I thought you were talking about the craigslist car and didn't see the link you were referring to until this morning. :p

I actually have several pictures of the one that is old/new combined together.

Hi Dude, I would really like to see those pictures - as long as it is not too much trouble for you to post them on our site. Regards Styria

N.B. You don't mind me addressing you as 'Dude' ? It's just that much more convenient.

It doesn't bother me what you address me as. :) Dude seems to work just fine.

LOL, I already had the pictures uploaded on photobucket, so no, it's no problem to add them. :)
