AMG engine covers for the M110


Did they make these for the M100?

Hi Des, perhaps S-Class may have an answer for you. Just as an aside, but still talking about his AMG 6.9, has anyone ever seen pics of the interior of his red car ? I know he has indicated that he is more comfortable in the standard seats, but that's all I seem to recall. Regards Styria

My red 6.9 has standard valve covers. This is also true of all the genuine and suspected AMG 6.9's I'm aware of (eg, the classic centre car, mirafioriman's car, the silver one on german ebay last year...)

I have seen pictures of a few AMG'd M110 powered cars with that valve cover. Nice.

styria, when I first got the red car I did post a lot of pictures, but the only interior shots are of the front. In the next couple of weeks I will take a more complete set of interior pics. BTW I drove the car today, and the small steering wheel is sending me crazy - can't see the speedo between 80 and 160 km/h. Other observation about today's drive - cylinder 2's performance has deteriorated, and does not fire at all during idle - though seems to pick up when revs increase. I really need to investigate.

My point precisely on the smaller steering wheel.
They are gorgeous to look at and feel, but they sure are uncomfortable when it comes to visibility

Hi S-Class, you know, that appears to be the exact problem I have with Gleaming Beauty, but on No. 6 cylinder. I'm a bit like you - still have to investigate why, but I suspect that a head job will soon rear its ugly head. Regards, Styria

Have to agree, when you go from the bus steering wheel down to a Volvo or other car that is several inches smaller in size it allmost feels clumsey.

Totally agree.... height adjustable would have solved that problem...

American cars had them from the early sixties..

Yes., the relation of position of steering wheel and location of front seat makes for very uncomfortable efforts to get behind wheel, or alught from car. One of the quite idiosyncrastic features of the 116, together with the location of the adjustment knob for the back rest - on the left, inside and just about impossible to use.

Also combine that with a faulty door strap (and new ones cost a fortune), and you have a recipe of untold frustration and awkwardness. Some serious flaws in design features. Regards Styria

Hi Styria just to renew this post. I have posted pictures of AMG M110 now M100 and M117 . Yes M100 AMG rocker cover does exist its on 1 of Dr Qs cars. And for Mark some M100 intakes.

Okay Motec.

Not sure what to do with the badges I have no use for them.

My Cousin who use to have a Mercedes two door coupe sent me the badges about two years ago.

There is a box with Japanese or Chinese text on the box.

The text on the box says 'Carpet Badge Mercedes-Benz (1 Set 2pcs).

The AMG badge appears to made out of plastic it is a sealed plastic sleeve.

Stick the badges back in the office draw like I said have no need use for them.

In fact they are quiet ugly tacky looking badges!
