He does mention in the advert that the knock off wires were for sale separately.
Velour was an option in Australia but more standard in Europe.

Looks like it comes with FREE colour-coded Ronals!!! Personally I'd have vacuumed the floor before taking pics!! But I like the custom wood cup-holders. And yet another with no pic of the M100.... That and the boot would indicate to me how she's been looked after. Looks like the door trims have been re-worked.

I just pulled an old ad dated 3rd March 2004. It has a pic of the car from a different angle outside what looks like the very same car yard. It was advertised back then for $18K and that's without the wire wheels. No mention of the km at the time

LOL Nahhhhhhhh, usually if a car isn't flipped in a while it gets wholesaled unless this guy is moving it from yard to yard.

Maybe he was driving it himself or the other possibility is the car is there on consignment from the owner although this isn't done much these days.

It certainly looks good in the pics. But I think the pics were taken quite a while ago, so I wonder if it looks the same now? After some bad experience I wouldn't make a bid unless I'd looked at a car PERSONALLY. Lets hope the bidder has so it doesn't turn into a non-genuine bid.

And personally I don't like velour and I'm not real fond of green... But it's still better than brown! LOL!

Is it a genuine 6.9 because there is quite a few 'so called 6.9' for sale lately and they are not a 6.9?

Tim it's probably done more than that as there's doubt it's the correct speedo reading.

Yes I believe it's a real 6.9 going by the engine number starting with 100....

Well, not too bad alright. By the sound of things, there is no rego presently, so that's another grand on top of purchase price. One needs to take into consideration the transfer tax as well. Do I like the car - yes and no. I just wish there were more pictures for one. Also, RECENT repair history should be a 'must'. Old repairs don't hold a lot of value - the ad refers to suspension work carried out some years ago - any probs. today - that's what one should ask and consider. Yep, it needs a thorough inspection, but generally seems well kept. Regards Styria

N.B. Just noticed it's taken a bit of a 'hammering' on the org. site - I guess one better beware. Also, having another look at the car and its suspension height. It is certainly down at both ends, but that could be a matter of adjustment. Also, those oil stains - they look like 6.9 stains - there is a certain pattern.

I did read with interest the comments made on W116.org and in relation to some fairly serious documented discrepancies suggesting it has had a "Haircut".....

There is a bit too much in the way of anomalies but id say that a shrewd buyer with a fist full of dollars and a set of big brass ones could waltz in, state his case and make a rude offer and stand a good chance of walking away with the car.

Hopefully giving it a good home.

High Kilometres (or the lack of them) don't mean a lot when you're checking (and buying) an old car.

It's the overall condition, the maintenance!

Assuming that car had 50,000Kms (genuine) on the clock, but was not maintained properly; I can assure you that you could spend at least $5,000-$7,000 to bring it up to specs (mechanically).

Given there was doubt on the km of this car, which would indicate a less than honest seller, I think that's a good result
