The Sedan is the only DOHC 4 door I have ever seen so it could very well be the only one ever made . And has paper work to prove its real deal.

I can rember reading that AMG produced 21 quad cam engines based on the M117.
Styria had a book with one of these engines illustrated. It showed an example in an engine test cell, on a dolley.

I did not know that AMG produced a modified version of the SEL to take this engine, and I had assumed that all of the engines went into SEC's.

Yes but still great to own. I would mostly only drive it to shows . As you point out costly to own and maintain . But a piece of history all the same.
