    W116 with Vinyl top

I think this is the first time I have ever seen this. I'm not sure if it was original, or was it an aftermarket thing? This car is a 1975 model (manual as well) and I know that the vinyl roof option was a big thing in the early to mid 70's. Our neighbour had a powder blue Citroen GS Club with a...

Gentlemen, Please assist us in saving the historic East London Grand Prix Circuit in South Africa. The lease has ended and there are plans to build a university on this site. East London was the first South African circuit to host a round of the World Championship. This tight little track, only...

    1954-1955 300SLR Sports Racer

Can anyone give me some facts about this car: How many were built in total and who owns them? I remember reading an article about this racer a few years ago and vaguely remember that there were 9 built, of which one was destroyed at Le Mans in '55. The remaining 8 all belong to Daimler...

6.9 and 6.3 cylinder heads - a bit off topic

Can anyone tell me whether I would be able to fit 6.3 cylinder heads to a 6.9 engine block?

    A brakeless 6.9

This was an interesting experience. I went through to Johannesburg (about 60km from Pretoria) on Saturday morning to fetch a waterpump, and suddenly, while braking for a red light, the brake pedal hit the floor board. The rear brakes, fortunately, still worked, but locked up and there was a...

    6.9 suspension lock

When jacking up the 6.9, I pull the suspension knob to the centre postion, which I understand is the 'lock' position. However, the car still drops on it's belly once I've jacked it down. What's up?

    Is this normal?

If the driver's door of my 6.9 is open and the ignition is on, I can't open any of the windows. I have to press in the two black switches on the inside of the door arch to simulate that the door is closed, or close the door before the window will work.

    JR Ewing and his W116

With the Porsche laid up while I get the water pump reconditioned, I've been forced to drive the 6.9...and it's fabulous! Don't know if I can afford the fuel, though, so the Porsche needs to be mobile this weekend. However, everytime I drive this car, I feel like JR Ewing - JR and his W116 made...

    A pic of my 280SL

Here's a pic of my 1982 280SL that I bought three years ago. Only had 94 000km on the clock and was spotless. The spare had never been used and still had those original little round stickers on the spare wheel's rim. Car is now used daily by my boyfriend and has 133 000 on the clock, but it;s...
