I got a fairly decent quote from a highly recommended fabricator in Melbourne's far East. $3500-$4K for full stainless custom headers (probably not including the remainder of the system). Not cheap, but also not as bad as I'd expected since my estimates of late have been 1/2 of the actual cost!

I finally nutted out the M120 & the Ferrari V12s and the biggest hurdle seems to be a sheer lack of space; far worse than the space around a M100 6.9!

I feel glad that the first engine to run this system will be the M117; an engine that’s suffered from a lack of decent support for so long.

I’ve discovered the system will work on any engine (not just Benzes) and of course includes M100, M119, M113, M110, M103/4. The M120 is harder but not impossible

It just clicked what’s going on with the horrible speedo face. I’d suggest they modified the graduations to cater for the steering wheel which might’ve obscured the most used section of the facia… Personally I’d prefer the original steering wheel!

If you use any type of hardening sealant (including semi hardening silicone), you’ll find the only way to remove the tail lights in the future is to smash them out… I’m purchasing a product from Wurth for the job so I’ll let you know which one soon. Non hardening for windscreens & rubber seals...

The CLC was never renowned for its quality. The decade bw 2000-2010 should be avoided

Those inner guards are perhaps the biggest issue with the W116 chassis. Drains far too small which are then coated and often blocked by body deadener. Well done on getting the mess fixed! Tail lights & the firewall mat can also hide nasty surprises. If the tail lights are leaking take them out...
