Another pic of the current trunk handle on the 300SE.

I can see the difference with the LH and RH side of the trunk handle on the 6.9 Motec.

Mono chroming what does that involve near heard of mono chroming?

I am learning so much about chrome that is for sure and it is valuable info as well!

It means de chroming car and painting Tim which is what AMG did in 70's Early 80's .

Okay got that info Motec good to know that info.

Should have taken a close up photo of the trunk handle on the 300SE so you can see the dents on the handle and the pitting on the LH side.

Yes its not that I don't like chrome I do its just I would like to make this car an AMG tribute looking car . But no terrible eBay badges or stuff it must be what was available when car was new . Cosmetically correct.

Hi Tim , did you check with Adsitco.com in Indiana ? They have everything and I used them before , but shipping to Australia ,Cali might be better for you guys
For me I used my sons address in New York and got it while I was there

300SE is at the spray painters.

Chrome Tech sent me a quote to have the trunk handle lid re-chromed sadly the quote will be way out of my budget.

Hi Tim try Helmet for trim or any euro wreckers as Helmet said they don't get damaged to often. Price probably cheaper to buy new than rechrome I take it.

Trunk handle is being removed and sent to the chrome shop with the wheels.

Hamilton Chrome have given me a quote.

Wait to hear back from the spray painter to let me know he is happy with the wheels after they have been dipped and kerb/gutter rash removed.

Then the spray painter will go ahead and prepare the wheels for painting.

Repainting the alloys is all about preparation that is what George the spray painter told me.
