Spark plugs?

For the 450SE - NGK or Bosch plugs?
I'm currently using Bosch and will replace them and re-time the engine this weekend. It's just that I hear people say they get a better idle from NGK. Is this true?
(Styria, these are for the car - not the bike....OK? )

NGK all the way, have been completely happy with them in my 6.9, 450SE and 190E, as well as every other non-MB car I've ever owned.

If you flood or foul the plugs by accident, in my experience only, it seems easier to clear and get running again with NGKs.

The rest of my ignition system (leads, cap, rotor button) I use Bosch or Behr.

Thanks Ian - I reckon I'll give the NGK a go. I use them in the Spirit and they are the only advised ones for it.

I would also go one heat range higher than suggested. For example, if they suggested plug is a BP6ES, go for a BP5ES. This was recommended to me by a fuel specialist and he was referring to today's fuel.

I've already done that a long time back with the Bosch.
Bosch numbering for the heat range is the reverse of NGK isn't it?

Yes, lower number, hotter plug with NGK.

OK so NGK BP6ES is recommended so I'll go to BP5ES and see what happens.

Well, I realize I am a bit late, but I'll go against the trend and what's been written so far. I will not use any plug other than Bosch Platinum - sure, a little more expensive, but they are long lasting and burn so much cleaner. I can look at a platinum plug three or four months after installation and it will still have the wire brush marks showing after they have been cleaned. Conventional plugs, on the other hand, will show a considerable build up of carbon. You can buy the Platinum plugs from Supercheap - they are not that much more than conventional, you can buy the correct heat range and, of all things, they are manufactured in Germany.
