It had Centras on when I got it, then I tried AMG hammers, now it looks as it should .

Agree. The right wheels can make all the difference. The centras are popular, but I've never been a huge fan. Always thought about getting a set of the 15s for my SLC but the price has kept me away. In the end I took off the 14s and put on the wheels I had on my 560SEC when I sold it. That car had horrible drug dealer wheels when I bought it, made my eyes burn. That and the 80's 'miami vice' gold badges that went straight in the bin.

As purchased, you can see the drug dealer rims but the gold badging needs sharp eyes.

All gold trim removed now, wheels changed (not genuine mercedes, but the right offset for a W126), and proper headlights installed.

Looks much better, interesting SEC, did you import it yourself ?

I sold it rather than importing it. Only got $2800USD. SEC's are worthless in the states unless they are concours and with 50k miles. Still, I only paid $3400 and I used it for 2.5 years and drove it all over the country.

I had another SEC I used to drive in the winter as a winter car. Sold that one for $900. It became a sort of rolling parts car in a way to the good one too.

The difference between driving a well maintained SEC and crappy one was night and day.

I imported my Jag and the wheels off the good SEC. Rest was sold.

Helmet the alloys look terrific on the 6.9!

Bryce my 300SE had the same style of wheels on the car before I bought it from MB Spares.

Replaced those wheels with the current 15" wheels on the car now I prefer how they look.
