    Cooling System Maintenance

Interesting you mentioend liquid intelligence. I've been thinking of trying this in my Citroen DS, which is a south Australian car originally so has a dirty cooling system. I normally flush it out every couple of years, but now i hear more about liquid intelligence, I may give it a go.

    Progress....

An import 560SEC is a great car to have. I love mine. Classic benz with 300hp, pretty good combo.

At first glance this 300D looks alright, then you spot the rust in the doors and a few other issues. I was finding it hard to belive it only had 135k on the clock until I found the auction listing from 2021 and it all made sense. 12313022178610 https://www.grays.com/lot/0001-21016652/

[JT] Rover P8 vs Leyland P76

The P76 was to have coupé (Force 7) and estate variants, but they did not go beyond the prototype stage. Just what the Aussie family needed – a vast bench seat upholstered in vinyl! The best known photographs of the P8 interior show the vandalised surviving prototype and do not do justice...

[JT] Rover P8 vs Leyland P76

This article is from the James Taylor FB page which allows articles to be reproduced if credited: https://www.facebook.com/james.t.roverphile I’ve lost track of the number of times people have repeated the story that the Australian Leyland P76 was derived from the aborted Rover P8. No, it...

    Disco Panzer

There are rebuilds and there are reabuilds too. A simple reseal (all some rebuilds are) is maybe $3k. Most would replace the clutches too. Bands and torque converter are often extras. I wanted it all done properly as I don't want to have to take that transmission out again.

    Disco Panzer

my mechanic organized it, but the guy who did it has now retired. cost a bit over $5k including having the torque converter overhauled and changing the bands.

If you wanted to adapt an MB transmission, you can get adaptors and a standalone ECU to bolt up the 722.6, which is the good 5 speed. (the 722.5 is the weak five speed). Not sure it's really worth it though. I saw a 450SEL with a manual conversion when In melbourne. Also rebuilt...

my 560SEC has 455nm and a 722.3 trans, so at least the ECE 560s should do that, and even the Aussie 560 is 400nm
