The filter is a bit yukky but not so much it might cause poor running I guess. Time will tell when the new one is installed. Good luck with what certainly is a solid car. Regards, Brian

    The new ML

Patrick - the main criterion, apart from 100% reliability, is that it carry the dogs in safety. The ML is one of the very few cars for which one can purchase dog retaining nets to stop them flying around the cabin in an accident. I made a serious error in selling my original ML and I regret that...

You must be wondering why I have not mentioned anything about the new ML - and Patrick will be hanging out for pictures. Patrick loves car pictures! The answer is simple - I brought it home and sent it straight to Paradise for a complete service - check the computer codes etc. and change all...

    All ITALIAN

Here are two more favourites of mine (favourites for entirely different reason) but the difference between playing them on computer speakers or through a proper hifi system in phenomonal. I have a pair of reasonably good Bose computer speakers but they don't allow all the sound to play...

    Car of the week

"Like but with reservations. Michelotti like styling with those huge rear fins a la Austins and Morrises, but not all that attractive even given its "classic" status. There would have to be better around. Regards Styria" Perhaps you might prefer the cabriolet version...

Once a common sight on country roads in NSW and VIC becuase of their ability to survive harsh conditions and still give good handling and a comfortable ride. Not exactly fast to accellerate but with a cruising speed around 75 mph. Regards, Brian

    AUDI A7 3.0 litre TDI

It's a very good reason for an Italian Tune-up. However, spining out to 4000 rpm could not be called Italian.... more like a granny-run! Yes, Patrick, I believe you could be correct about another diesel in the family. More to come when it arrives. Regards, Brian

2015 Motec. Handbook instructions advise a 30 minute highway run every 2 months. The alternative is the dealer runs a special programme to burn off rubbish from the particulate filter. Regards, Brian

That's a pity Patrick as an A2 would be very rare in Australia and thus desirable. https://dnacollectibles.com/blog/information/audi-a2-colour-storm-edition-2003/?v=6cc98ba2045f Regards, Brian

That's not good Patrick. I am aware that the Turbo 1.6 litre engine which is currently used by MINI, BMW and Peugeot/Citroen has a major problem with the timing chain despite the engine being awarded for its efficiency and design. The plastic casssette holding the timing chain is prone to...
