    [JT] The Rover IOE Engine

Enlarged capacities from 1950 Almost as soon as the Sloping Head engines had been committed to production, Rover began looking at how to develop more powerful versions for later. Work started in earnest during 1950, using the simplest solution of enlarging the cylinder bores. For the...

    [JT] The Rover IOE Engine

Rover’s IOE engine family was central to its products for very nearly 30 years, powering the cars between 1948 and 1967 and powering Land Rovers between 1948 and 1977 with a four-year break between 1958 and 1962. The engines were always very highly regarded, although they were certainly long in...

    Restrictive Air Filter Assemblies

I did some research into this at the time I wrote the 560 article on my website: https://www.classicjalopy.com/2019/02/the-m117-968-560-engine/ Basically the real response to BMW was the M120 V12. However, it was late so the 560 was seen as quick and cheap stopgap with the main focus on...

    Old Fuel

Some motors seem more susceptible than others. My Jag being particularly sensitive, you really notice how much better it runs when the fuel is fresh. even 3 months old is degraded performance these days.

Hanging Rock 2023 & other events

Some nice cars there. The signal red SEC looks like a UK import. The W111 and W112 coupes are both nice, as is the Ikoen Gold 6.9

    My 1965 250SE Cabriolet

Just recently I upgraded the Alternator in my 250SE to 55A. Its made a big difference, and so far I am very happy with the improvement. My 250SE, and nearly all W111/W108 etc, came originally with a 35A alternator. This seems like a very small size to us now, but when the cars were new, it...

    My Citroen DS21

Haven't updated on My DS for quite some time on this forum. It's been pretty trouble free, and its by far the cheapest classic to own that I have. In 2021 I had to put on a rebuilt hydraulic pump. It was still pumping ok, but had started to leak. This was putting oil on the brake disc...

    Recommended specialist MB repairer Sydney?

How old is the car? for the older cars (pre 2000), I use Peninsula Prestige in North Narrabeen For the newer cars, Sydney Star in Brookvale is very good. They did the balancer shaft on my wife's E350 wagon I've also used City European Auto in Brookvale and they have a lot of regular mercs...

    Sbarro Monster G

I don’t think headers and exhaust would take you to 350hp on a 6.3. Was only worth about 20-25hp when they did it to the 560 engine.

    Suggestions for a daily replacement

    For Sale 1979 280SE W116

Was pretty good actually. Spoke to them a few weeks ago, and brought the car over to their show room in Artarmon during my lunch break. They had a couple of their guys look over the car. I think they were fairly realistic (slightly on the high side, but that makes sense in a market where car...

    Patricks Trucks

I could see that working very well in europe, on heavily trafficed trunk routes. Might be a bit more difficult in Australia, but perhaps you would get a return doing the hume corridor between Melbourne->Sydney->brisbane. of course the truck can go into the faster lane, but I have wishful...
