Temperature Gauge Stopped Working

Just yesterday my temp gauge seems to have quit on me. Connection to the instrument cluster seems fine and all other gauges are working. No problem for oil, tach, fuel...just no engine temperature reading.

I've got a 1978 450SEL. What should I be looking for, and WHERE should I be looking for it? I know the temperature sender switch is somewhere near the throttle linkage, but where? And how can you tell if it's crapped out

When you find it, put an ohm meter across the conrtacts when cold and hot to see if there is a difference. Try putting a voltage to the contacts in the plug to check if the instrument panel gauge is working.
