Hello Brian,

You are right the alternator is shiny you should have seen it earlier this week.

Lots of grease on the alternator.

Auto electricians have removed the grease and it looks as if the outer surface has been buffed or polished?

Anyhow alternator reconditioned and also has a 3 month parts warranty as well.

Might be just me but the 300SE does seem to have a bit more pep since the alternator was reconditioned.

The car has been given a bath and a wax today brake dust on the wheels, dirt & dust be gone!

Cheers.

Hello,

Just had a new boot seal fitted.

Boot seal supplied from MB Classic California.

New actuating rods and wind deflector plate which are sunroof parts have also been installed.

Hi Helmet please clarify?

When you say the seal is 'off' is that off centre.

Yes , the part that sticks straight out should be along the rear beaver panel. Your photo shows it straight up around the Lh hinge. Not only cosmetic as the boot lid won't seal on the lower rear lip and you will draw in exhaust fumes . If you are lucky the guy that fitted didn't glue it in properly either and it can be removed and rectified. If it has been secured properly you might damage it when trying to remove it.

Yes Helmet, it has always one of my pet HATES when Picking up a new Car and the clowns can't centre or align the number plates.
And while I'm having a bitch, I always found that if there is a Dealer fitted item it will not be right !!!!!!!!!!

Good evening Helmet I tried to phone you today but no answer.

Have been back to the panel beaters and unfortunately trying to remove the seal it tore!

Another seal has been ordered and due to arrive next week from California.

Considering the seal is coming from overseas it will only take a few days to arrive so can not complain.

That is the latest update for now.

Cheers.
