I haven't advertised anywhere yet.. just thought I'd drop you guys a line and see what you thought. It was last registered in QLD in 2007 and has been in my garage awaiting restoration ever since..Mechanically It needs some love mostly due to the amount of time its sat around under a car cover (some dry gaskets and seals) and a rough idle.. The body and paint I would consider to be in pretty good condition...
I'm looking for some where in the vicinity of 6.5k - 7.5k??.. Do you blokes think thats excessive for a car in this condition??

Hi Black Hands, (Duncan) - I am just a little sorry to see you want to part with your car. As you know, I have had some involvement with your car going back several years now when you were still living in Sydney, and I feel that I still have some emotional involvement with your car.

It's got to be the best part of some eight or nine years now since Harry, the qualified painter, put the finishing touches to your car by repainting the complete exterior, and it was his mate Todd that carried out some excellent minor rust repairs. Unfortunately, Harry is no longer with us - top guy and not a bad tradesman. I, of course, did some work on the rear drive shafts (a perished boot) which took quite a bit of fixing. 116s are not noted for an 'easy' fix in that area of the car.

Duncan, good luck with your endeavours to sell the car - there is a member of Topklasse that's been looking for a 6.9 - his name is Burty (Robin) and you may wish to contact him. I believe he is involved with the Air Force or whatever in some capacity, and I am certain that the two of you would find plenty in common and to talk about. Regards Styria (Michael)

Black Hands, If you have a set of bundts or other wheels to put on the car, i'd be interested in buying those centras (i think they're called) off you seperately.

Car looks in very good nic appearance wise.

correct me if im wrong but your car looks like one that was for sale at brian hall's in canberra in 99 that i was thinking of buying it was the same colour and had centra's on it still the only set i have seen

The car was originally a Canberra car, but I bought it privately in early '98.. It had 5 spoke AMG type wheels with colour coded paint which looked ok, but I swapped those wheels with a mate of mine for the ones on it now..
Sorry SELfor50, but the wheels will stay with the car. I'm not in a desperate rush to sell. Honestly, it's hard to imagine someone else driving it... But if someone's prepared to offer the me the right money for it, I'll part ways with her.

Hi SELfor50, those Centa rims are in fact 16" and they do, surprisingly I might add, tend to dominate road behaviour and handling to a certain degree. If I remember correctly, Duncan's car, or I should say, the wheels, sported Yokohamas at the time and provided sure footed handling. Regards Styria

Hi Black hands as much as i would like to say yes having 2 6.9's at the moment is pushing my luck with she who must be obeyed and adding a 3rd with a baby due in 4 weeks lets not go there i can only hide so much about cost and expenditure
