There's no way I'd be using any scouring pad, steel wool or similar to clean my wheels. Remember they're only coated in paint not unlike the rest of the car.... If you scrub off the clear coat it won't be long before they corrode. Here's the link to the other thread...

I'm thinking of buying a 560SEL as a daily to replace my Fairmont Ghia which is fading... Am I completely mad, or should I go for it? Any suggestions? Seems the current batch of 6.9s for sale are going for around the same money as a 560, which could suggest the W116 is gaining value compared...

It could be the only 6.9 in Australia with exhaust extractors (not to mention the Motec system)! I bet the pump/s are gummed up....

Yes I'd be very keen to see some current pictures.... I did suggest that one of my mates buy the car, but he had to sell stuff first and was beaten to the post! Congratulations WGB! I thought it was way too good to be a parts car... :)
