Those inner guards are perhaps the biggest issue with the W116 chassis. Drains far too small which are then coated and often blocked by body deadener. Well done on getting the mess fixed! Tail lights & the firewall mat can also hide nasty surprises. If the tail lights are leaking take them out...

This will become more of an issue as electronic devices control critical systems. What was once just a minor glitch or gremlin could now be fatal. Be stuffed if I ever use a self driving car!!

Race results & no mention of the other 2 cars so likely to be a difference race. Of note is the laps completed & reason for DNF

AMG definitely favoured twin throttles, separate plenums & cross rams back in the day. It worked well on the Mampe SLC but not on the Interserie AMG McLaren probably due to the very long runners.

New pictures of the race cars have emerged. Seems there could’ve been up to 4 cars going by the numbers & livery….

The speedo head indicates it could be the same car. I heard it was originally built by an AMG dealer in the US however I’m not convinced since they wouldn’t create such a hideous speedo facia and one without the AMG logo…

I wonder if it’s even the same car or it was changed after this thread was posted?
