    [JT] Small displacement Rover P5s

This article is reposted from James Taylor's Facebook feed. He originally covered this topic in his excellent P5 book, which is highly recommended for anyone interested in Rovers or British cars. https://www.facebook.com/james.t.roverphile One of the things I have always found interesting...

Old time radios with modern technology

Thanks, I have been watching this guy on facebook for a while. It you wouldn't mind posting your impressions of the radio as you use it over time, would be really helpful. Can you use any of the buttons to advance the track via bluetooth or answer a call?

    MBCNSW Cars and coffee

I went to a MBCNSW cars and coffee event yesterday in my 450SLC. A few nice cars on display: https://www.classicjalopy.com/2023/06/mbcnsw-june-2023-cars-and-coffee/

    6.9 Hydropneumatic Suspension

From what I read of period reviews, they made very minor changes to make it legally ambiguous and then used the fact that citroen were in dire financial issues at the time and not really in much of a position to mount a challenge.

    1980 6.9 with ABS

I've never seen anywhere that ABS was offered on aussie W116s. I've seen two UK import cars with ABS for sale, but never an aussie car. A guy on facebook once said it was available, but never offered any evidence.

    1983 500SL

Great build. Interestingly the factory originally chose a 2,82 ratio for the 500 but then moved to the tall gearing after the energy crisis.

Welcome to the forum. that is a really nice usable classic you have there.

    Car of the week

The whole import thing is really very interesting. I speak to a lot of people in the MB clubs in Australia who are looking to buy cars, mostly in NSW but sometimes in other states. 95% of the time, the one requirement they just will not budge on is that the car MUST be Australian delivered...

    KJET EFI conversion - 280sl

Personally I would fix yours if you can. At least you can take it to a good mercedes benz garage who has factory literature and they can fix it. Once you go custom fuel injection you're going to limit where you can take it and harm resale. Plus K-jet injectors are very thin, so not sure how...

W116 article on Classic and Sports Car this month

I read this, and unlike most of these articles that are high level and superficial, this one went into a lot of really good detail on the model. I feel like the W116 has always been stuck in the shadow of the W126 and W108. Arguably, as few people use these cars daily anymore, the W116 is...

    Fangio and the 6.9

[JT] The 1952/53 Rover P4 Models

Should also note that if this James Taylor article has you interested in a P4, there are always a few nice ones for sale here: https://roverp4guildaustralia.wordpress.com There can't be too many classics that give you so much car for such a small outlay as the Rover P4.

    C107's C107

I should also note that I neglected to mention that as of March, I have now owned this car for 20 years. I've covered around 50,000km in that time.

    C107's C107

I used the original amp that was sitting loose in behind the dash that has ‘Fletch’ written on it in sharpie. I assume he had it out for repair at one point.

[JT] The 1952/53 Rover P4 Models

Perhaps this car on the 1952 sales brochure was supposed to be Pastel Blue. If so, it was a very poor representation of the colour! This overhead view of a press demonstrator shows the new front end with the air vent in the open position. The interior changes were minor, and would not have...

[JT] The 1952/53 Rover P4 Models

The 1953 models The positive reception that greeted the 1952 models made clear that Rover did not need to make any major changes. The ones they did make were to the paint colour options. The Black, Ivory and Pastel Blue favourites were retained, but in place of the two greens came Sage Green...
