    Soft top removal

Please help, I have to drive in a Anzac Day parade on the weekend with the roof down, weather permitting. The locking pin in the centre at the back will not release. It pops up but will not let go. Is there a way of getting it to release. Col

    Dash board wiring

Does anyone know what the connections are on the plug or socket on the back of the dashboard (14 pin)? 74 SL350. I'm having trouble with the dash lights because of a shorted bulb but somehow the plug , which can be any oriention, is mixed up. Because the steering wheel is in the passengers side...

    W107 Heater/Air conditioning

:confused:OK a day of travelling and trying different positions did little to help sort this problem out. With all levers down air cond. air to center three vents and it appears as if the two eyeball vents on the sides just give outside temperater air. So turn them to clsed and all is well...

    W107 Heater/Air conditioning

I have owned the car for a little over 12 months and I did not do the restoration but I did replace the A/C compressor and dryer reciever and blower fan last year. The car does not get out much but it appears that the problem has always been there to a certain degree. I am fairly sure the air...

    W107 Heater/Air conditioning

Work comitments have put things back a couple of weeks but I will continue until the problem is solved. W107 Heater/Air conditioning

OK it is book in next week to have the air conditioning checked but if the vaccum operated tap on the firewall is "OFF" then how can there be hot air at the eyeball vents? (The replacement tap is plastic) If the tap is not turning off completely and the hot air is mixing with the air conditioned...

    W107 Heater/Air conditioning

I think I have tried everything but am I missing something? The "eye ball" vents when open blast hot air. The dash levers make no difference. So with the air conditioning on , all 4 levers down, fan on 3 ,you can get fresh air to the other vents but not refridgerated. The condenser and dryer...

    A/C auxillary fan

I finally manage to fit an auxillary fan into my 1974 SL350. Although I have the Haynes workshop manual with the wiring diagram I have a few questions. The wire that pulls the compressor clutch in appears to go across the car, and without removing all the tape that binds the wiring loom...

    Three questions '74 sl 350

    1. Do all cars fitted with A/C have an auxillary fan? 2. There is a smell of fuel after a trip and I can't see any obvious leaks. It seems to be around the back of the car. Any clues? 3. The car seems to wander on smooth roads what we used to call "tram tracking". The wheel alignment seems ok...
