Very interesting Peter, and as you have said before , there is nothing much new , just modern technology make it all happen.
It will be interesting to see if V.W. go back to the drawing Board with their forth coming new 1.5 Turbo for the 2018 Golf. They have got to be in bed with Bosch as they did not develop the cheating Soft Ware all on their own!
