The 116 certainly beats the 126 in the external looks department! Internal features not so much. From a rust & self preservation perspective the 126 is definitely superior. The 116 is full of water & dust traps that seem determined to destroy the car if not regularly maintained!

It would seem it’s extremely difficult to remove the LH cylinder head on an Aussie car with the engine still in the chassis. The EGR pipe is a big headache.

Cold pressure washers are almost as good & available at Bunnings for reasonable cost. I’ve been toying with buying a hot pressure washer for years but it’s very hard to find a decent one for less than $2k. Hard to justify unless you’re going to use it LOTS! Then if the diesel burner breaks down...

Well it seems I’m in the process of a 6.9 rebuild now... What started as a blown headgasket has turned into a full rebuild. And a big factor on how things progress is the availability of piston rings. So why aren’t you driving yours much? Any current pix or video??
